Use Case - How to Manage All Reviews from a Single Dashboard
Note: this guide requires:
- WordPress Review plugin - This document uses version 3.1.1.
Introduction
WordPress Review plugin allows your users to leave reviews and rate posts, pages and products on your site. The plugin is highly customizable and flexible, so you can configure it according to your needs and manage all reviews.

In this example use case guide, we'll cover how to manage all reviews posted on your site, review the statistics and back-up the reviews. We consider that you have already bought the WordPress Review plugin, but not installed it yet.

Installing the Plugin
The process is the same for all CM plugins and add-ons.
- Download the plugin from your customer dashboard.
- Log in to WordPress and navigate to the WordPress Admin → Plugins settings.
- Click on Add New.
- Activate it and add the license.

Quick Recap
In this use case guide we will focus on how to manage reviews on your site. If you want to start with the basics, please check the following use cases first:
Single Reviews Dashboard
To reach the single dashboard for managing all reviews, head to Admin Dashboard → CM Reviews → All Reviews.
There you can see the following dashboard:
At the top there are 2 filters:
- Status - Allows to filter reviews by the following statuses:
- All - See all reviews.
- Publish - See only published reviews.
- Pending - See only reviews that are waiting for moderation.
- Hidden - See only reviews that were hidden by the admin.
- Rating - Filter the reviews by the rating from 1 to 5.
To filter the results, click the button Filter.
Below filters there is a table with all reviews. It has the following columns:
- Post Title - Title of the post/page and a link to it. It is possible to order the reviews by the title.
- Review Image - If the review contains an image, it will be displayed in this column as a clickable thumbnail.
- Review Video link - If the review contains a video, it will be marked by the clickable video icon.
- Date - Shows the publish date and time of the review. It is possible to order the reviews by the date.
- Author Name - Show the name of the review author.
- Status - Shows the review status. It can be:
- Publish - The review is visible on the front-end of your site.
- Pending - The review is posted, but not visible until the admin approves it.
- Hidden - The review is hidden by the admin.
- Rating - Show the review rating from 1 to 5.
- Review Title - Show the review title.
- Review Content - Show the review itself.
- Actions - There can be the following actions:
- Accept - Allows to publish the review when it is waiting for moderation.
- Hide - Allows to hide the review when it is published.
- Show - Allows to show the review after it was hidden.
- Delete - Allows to remove the review.
Review Content - Custom Fields
If you enabled custom fields in the review form, you can check the info that the user filled in the review by clicking the button Show Custom Fields:

Reviews Dashboard On Specific Pages
You can manage reviews and ratings for certain post (or page) by accessing the post itself from the Admin dashboard. Navigate to the post which you wish to manage reviews for, and scroll down to find the Manage Post Reviews box:
At the top you can see 2 options:
- Disable reviews/rating for current post - Check this option and save the changes to disable the reviews feature for the current post.
- Delete all reviews - Click it to remove all reviews for the current post.
Below you can see a table with reviews. The table columns are quite similar to the table in the previous chapter:
- Rating - Shows the rating, its weight and ID. The Review ID identifies each review and can be used inside shortcodes to embed that specific review on other parts of your website.
- Review - Shows the review title and content.
- Author - Shows the info about the author: name and email. It is also possible to show an IP address if it enabled in the plugin settings. Learn more.
- Image - Shows the image if it is included to the review.
- Video Link - Shows the video link if it is included to the review.
- Status - Shows the review status.
- Actions - Each review has a set of actions for managing.
Let's consider the Action more detailed.
Actions
Edit
Clicking the button Edit allows to change the review:
Delete
Clicking the button Delete allows to remove the review:
Highlight
It is possible to highlight chosen reviews. The highlighted reviews will be marked with chosen text and background colors.
To highlight the review, just click the button Highlight on the needed one. The color of the review will be changed on the back-end and on the front-end.
You can highlight any amount of reviews. To undo this action, click the button Unhighlight on the needed review.

Change the Colors
The text and background colors of highlighted reviews can be changed in plugin settings. Learn more: WordPress Review Plugin - Getting Started - Plugin Settings
Pin to Top
It is possible to pin the chosen review to the top of the reviews list.
Just click the button Pin to top on the needed review. It will be automatically shown at the top of the list.
Only 1 review can be pinned to the top, so the button Pin to top will disappear for other reviews. The pinned review will be marked as Pinned. To undo this action, click the button Unpin.
Add New Review On the Back-end
At the bottom, you will find an Add New Review form which you can use to add a new review and rating for the current post. The Author field in this form is customizable if you don't want to use your user account details when creating the review.
Here you can add title and review, set the publish date and time, write the origin of a review, and provide an image and video.
Reviews Order
It is possible to sort reviews by a few different ways:
- By date
- By score
- Manually
To configure it, navigate to Admin Dashboard → CM Reviews → Settings → Reviews tab, and choose the needed type of sorting in the option Sort reviews by, then save the changes.
If Manually is chosen, to change the reviews order just click on any review, then drag and drop it to the needed place.
Reviews Statistics
To reach the statistics dashboard, navigate to Admin Dashboard → CM Reviews → Statistics.
There are 2 tabs.
Daily Report
First tab Daily Report allows to filter reviews by the period of time and review short info about them:
Chart
Second tab Chart allows to see the statistics for reviews as a graph for a chosen period of time:
Import and Export Reviews
Navigate to Admin Dashboard → CM Reviews → Import/Export.
Here you can:
- Export Reviews - You can either export all reviews or choose a specific post or page. The data will be exported into a CSV file.
- Import Reviews from File - You can import reviews from a CSV file.
End Result
Following instructions found in the plugin and guides, you should be able to manage all reviews posted on your site, review the statistics and back-up the reviews.
