Auto Approving Answers
Note: This feature is relevant to GDPR compliance. Learn more: User Data Privacy and GDPR Compliance
To auto-approve answers in WordPress Questions and Answers, first navigate to the Admin Dashboard → CM Answers Pro → Settings.
Click on Access and moderation tab.
Here is the option that enables admins to define whether to auto-approve answers posted on the forum, or leave them pending for further moderation and approval before finally getting published on the answers list after approval.
Approve Answers Manually
If the auto-approve answers feature is turned off, admins and editors will have to moderate and approve each answer manually by going into the Answers section in the plugin admin area.
Administrators can choose to auto-approve answers or have them reviewed manually for moderation and approval.
How to moderate non-auto approved answers?
Answers that are waiting for moderation will appear highlighted in the plugin admin area. Once the cursor hovers over them, an ‘approve’ button will appear.
All answers use the WP built-in Comments mechanism, so if you are using this feature in another plugin, or if your WordPress is already set up for WP Comments on posts, they will appear together with all the comments that have been submitted to that specific answer.
There are many Q&A plugins for WordPress, but ours is the most functional and versatile!
Important note about the Auto approve Answers feature
By auto-approving your answers, you can save yourself a lot of time and hassle, which is a truly awesome advantage.
However, you should bare in mind that enabling this feature applies to all users, so although we have WordPress AntiSpam and Akismet working alongside the plugin, there is no way to guarantee that answers posted will be correct or appropriate for your forum objective. Only Auto approve answers if you’re familiar with your users and trust that they know what they’re talking about!
Auto-Approve Answers from Specific Users
If you’re using the WordPress Questions and Answers, you can choose to auto-approve specific users' posts and define which users are allowed to automatically publish questions or answers to forum without moderation, even when the moderation option is enabled.
This feature also works with users that use social media login. Once authenticated, these users are defined as WP users.
In order to enable this feature, navigate to the Admin Dashboard → CM Answers Pro → Settings.
Click on Access and moderation tab under the plugin settings.
Here, you can choose specific users for which you would like to auto-approve answers to questions.
By using the Auto-approve specific user’s posts feature, you can save a lot of time and hassle and improve the management of your discussion forum!
Note: You should bare in mind to only Auto approve specific user’s posts if you’re familiar with those users and trust that they know what they’re talking about! This would normally apply for company employees, people working on your behalf or users who have a track record of serving the forum objectives and conveying the “right” message, without sounding dull or making mistakes.
