With the WordPress Questions and Answers, you can track the geolocation of users who posted or voted on questions and answers. This information will be displayed in your logs.
Enabling And Configuring The Feature
Go to Admin Dashboard → CM Answers Pro → Settings → General tab.
In this tab, head down to the Other header.
Make sure to turn on the Enable logs setting. Learn more about logs and statistics.
Obtaining the Geolocation API Key
The plugin uses an external GeoLocation service called IPInfoDb and requires an API Key from it. It takes just a few minutes to obtain a free API key. The steps are:
- Register for a free account in http://ipinfodb.com/register.php.
- Validate the account by clicking the validation link sent by e-mail.
- Login to http://ipinfodb.com/.
Fetch the API Key
Paste it to CM Answer's settings
Log View
Now the log will show the country information. The following table shows two rows for comparison: One with the information and one without.
The field "Country" will also be available on exported CSV files.
