The WordPress MicroPayments supports adding a virtual currency layer to your WordPress File Manager plugin infrastructure.
This means users can pay or receive points, with real or virtual value, by uploading or downloading files.
For example, when a user comes to purchase a digital good on your stores - such as a music file or a software zip - they will be charged with points that in turn will be taken off their digital wallet.
In addition to allowing the WordPress File Manager plugin to become a marketplace for the exchange of files, this feature also can allow admins to reward top contributors and provides an incentive for users to engage in the download manager.

After installing WordPress MicroPayments, every registered user is given his own wallet. Then, after the quick setup of the external Payment Gateway and the currency, users can buy the virtual currency on your site and use it as if it was a prepaid credit card together with the WordPress File Manager plugin.
WordPress File Manager plugin can support various scenarios where users pay or receive points for downloading or uploading files into the Download Manager file repository system.

MicroPayments for Downloads Settings
Download authors and users will be charged or granted points according to criteria that you define in the WordPress File Manager plugin settings under the MicroPayments tab in the plugin settings.
The admin can decide how many points to grant or charge a user for uploading or downloading files to the Download Manager file repository system.
HOW CHARGE WORKS
When charge is selected:
- The user that downloads the file is charged the amount
- The author that uploads the file receives the amount
The admin can also disable the WordPress MicroPayments integration for either of these scenarios.
