Editing Configurable Products
The site admin can modify configurable products for different configurations through the True Edit Orders extension. To change the configuration of a configurable product using True Edit Order, you need to add the product of the correct configuration then remove the product of the incorrect configuration. 
Editing Configurable Product order
To modify an order containing a configurable product, in the admin panel navigate to Sales → Orders. Then identify the order containing the configurable product that you need to modify and click View in the rightmost column for the order row.
The detailed order view will appear. Scroll down until you reach the Items Ordered section. Click Add Items in the top right corner.
Find the Product with the desired configuration from the list, using the search feature and the original product SKU can help.
Check the box on the right of the correct associated product. Then click on the Add Selected Product(s) to Order. Button above and to the right of the Products list.
Next click on the Remove link on the right of the original configurable product to remove it from the order clicking Ok in the confirmation popup that will appear.
Now the Product will be removed from the order and you can continue to invoice the customer.
