With the WordPress Glossary plugin you can clean the tooltip content from HTML tags or shortcodes, line breaks, extra spaces, and special characters.

This will make sure that the content inside the tooltip looks adjusted to the tooltip format rather than the post format.

Please check the Clean tooltip text? box, which is located under the Tooltip tab in the plugin’s settings panel.
