Adding Products From the Back-end
You can add products to the new expert page or to already existing expert page. Let's consider the process on the example of existing page. Navigate to Admin Dashboard → CM Expert Directory Pro → Expert.
Hover on needed expert page and click Edit.
Scroll down to the box Manage Products and click the button Add New to add a product.
There will appear a form for adding a product. The form items are:
- Product Name - Add here the name of the product that will appear on the expert page on the front-end.
- URL - Add here the URL that will refer to the product.
- Add Image - Click it to add the image for the product.
- "X"-icon - Click it to remove this product.
Example of the filled form:
Let's add a couple of more products in the same way. To add each new product, click the button Add New.
The products will appear on the front-end in the same order as on the back-end. You can change the order by clicking on the product header, holding the button and dragging it to the needed place, then drop it.
When you finished adding products, click the button Update in the Publish metabox.
Now let's see the result on the front-end:
Adding Products With the Community Add-on
If you use the Member Directory Community add-on, you can also let your users add products to their expert pages. Users can edit expert pages that they own from the front-end. We will not go through the whole process of configuring the add-on and how it looks like on the front-end, you can learn more about it in this guide: WordPress Member Directory Plugin + Community (CMEDC) - Use Case - Creating Directory Where Users Suggest Experts
Here we will consider only a few moments that are relevant to the product offering.
Configuring the Community Add-on
Navigate to Admin Dashboard → CM Expert Directory Pro → Settings → Community Expert Labels tab.
Scroll down and locate two labels "Add Products" text field and "Add Products" field instructions. You can edit their text that will be visible on the front-end. And there are two checkboxes:
- Visible - Enable this option if you want to allow your users to add products to their expert pages. If disabled, the functionality of adding products won't be visible in the expert editing form.
- Mandatory - Enable it, if you want adding products to the expert pages to be required.
Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the button Update to save the changes.
Adding Products From the Front-end
When the user starts editing his expert page, he can see a section called Products (or somehow else, if you changed its label). The process is quite similar to the adding products on the back-end. Here the user can:
- "+"-icon - Click it to add new product to the expert page.
- Name - Add here the name of the product name that will appear on the expert page on the front-end.
- URL - Add here the URL that will refer to the product.
- Choose File - Click it to add the image for the product.
- "X"-icon - Click it to remove this product.
After adding products, the user needs to click the button Update at the bottom of the page to save the changes. The result will work the same as for adding products from the back-end.
End Result
Following instructions found in the plugin and guides, you should be able to add products to the expert page and offer them to clients.
