Introduction

The WordPress Questions and Answers creates a simple yet powerful WordPress Discussion Forum that is intuitive to use, easy to manage, and similar in style to the very popular forum StackOverflow.

With the PeepSo Integration add-on the WordPress Questions and Answers can receive social features by integrating with social platform PeepSo.

In this example we will consider how to let your users manage their forum questions and answers straight from their PeepSo profiles.

We consider that you have already bought and configured the base WordPress Questions and Answers, but not installed PeepSo and the PeepSo Integration Add-on.

Installing the Plugin

The process is the same for all CM plugins and add-ons.

• Download the plugin from your customer dashboard.
• Log in to WordPress and navigate to the WordPress Admin → Plugins settings.
• Click on Add New.
• Activate it and add the license.

Initial Setup - PeepSo

How Do I Install PeepSo?

PeepSo can be downloaded from the WordPress back-end.

Once installed, follow its documentation for the initial setup.

Integration Settings

Then you need to install and activate the PeepSo Integration add-on. Upon activating the Integration add-on and installing the license for it new settings will become available in the PeepSo settings on the WordPress dashboard.

Navigate to Admin Dashboard → PeepSo → Configuration.

Click on the CM Answers tab.

You will find there a few sections with the options. Let's consider them all one by one.

Links

This section defines the appearance and location of the Question-tabs and Subscription-tab.

The first pair of options:

• Show "My Questions" tab in the user's profile page - If enabled, the My Questions link with icon will be added to the user's profile, userbar widget, profile widget and will point to the user's PeepSo profile Question tab.

  

• Show "All Questions" tab in the user's profile page - If enabled, the All Questions link with icon will be added to the user's profile, userbar widget, profile widget and will point to CMA index page.

  

The second pair of options:

• Show "My Questions" icon in PeepSo toolbar - If enabled, the My Questions link with icon will be added to the PeepSo toolbar and point to the user's PeepSo profile Question tab.

  

• Show "All Questions" icon in PeepSo toolbar - If enabled, the All Questions link with icon will be added to the PeepSo toolbar and point to CMA index page.

  

Next option:

• Show "Subscription" tab in the user's profile shortcode - If enabled user will see the Subscription tab that displays the subscription information about following specific CMA categories.

  

Last pair of options:

• Questions link icon CSS - Set here a CSS class to the dashicon for the Questions link. 

• My Questions link icon CSS - Set here a CSS class to the dashicon for the My Questions link. 

  

CMA Integration

• Use PeepSo avatar on the CM Answers pages - If enabled the user's avatar from PeepSo will be displayed on the Questions and Answers plugin pages on the question/answer author.

Feed

The first pair of options:

• Create PeepSo activity when user posted a question - The activity post with the user's question link will be added to his Stream (wall) in his profile and will be also visible in the [peepso_activity] shortcode.
• Activity post template for new question - Template for new question post on the user's activity feed. You can use the following shortcodes: 
  • [fullname] - user's display name
  • [title] - question's title 
  • [permalink] - question's permalink
  • [excerpt] - question's excerpt

Example on the Front-end:

The second pair of options:

• Create PeepSo activity when user posted an answer - The activity post with the user's answer link will be added to his Stream (wall) in his profile and will be also visible in the [peepso_activity] shortcode.
• Activity post template for new answer - Template for new answer post on the user's activity feed. You can use the following shortcodes:
  • [fullname] - user's display name
  • [title] - question's title
  • [permalink] - permalink to the answer on the question's page
  • [answer] - answer

Example on the Front-end:

When you finished configuration don't forget to click the button Save Settings at the bottom of the page.

Labels

You can change the names of the front-end labels - tabs and buttons. To do this, navigate to CM Answers Pro → Settings → Labels.

The labels related to PeepSo integration are located in the corresponding section:

End Result

Now let's see the result. The tabs with questions were integrated to PeepSo profile, so users can ask the question and answer them straight from their profiles, and the other users can see their activity.
