Charging for Posting Questions and Answers and Unlocking Answers

The Questions and Answers Payment Support Addon includes the payment option for three situations: 

  • User posts a question. 
  • User posts an answer.
  • User unlocks an expert's answer - this option requires the Ask the Expert Advice Plugin to be installed.

To modify these, navigate to Admin Dashboard → CM Answers ProSettings Payments tab:

There is a panel with options for every situation. First you need to choose payment provider.

General

  • Payment provider - The plugin works with payment plugins Easy Digital Downloads and WooCommerce. Choose one of them for using with the add-on. Only active plugins are displayed in this list.

Posting Questions

The settings are:

  • Enable charging user when posting a question - Will direct the user who wants to asks questions to the checkout page.
  • Enable user to set price manually for answer - If enabled, the user will be able to propose his price for answers.
  • Enable user to set minimum answer length - If enabled, the user will be able to propose minimum answer length.
  • Enable user to add file to answer - If enabled, users will be able to add a file to answer.
  • Enable user to add time limit to answer - If enabled, the user will be able to set time limit for posting answers.
  • EDD product / WooCommerce product - Select which product that will be used for the payment.

The settings are only:

Q&A Subscription

Starting from version 2.0.8 you can charge users for subscription to be able to ask questions and post answers.

The settings are:

  • Enable unified subscription for Questions and Answers - If enabled, the user will have to pay for the subscription to be able to ask questions and post answers.
  • Set period for Answer and Question Subscriptions (in months) - Set the period of time in months for how long the paid Q&A subscription will work. 
  • Enable sending emails about expired subscription - If enabled, the user will get an email notification about subscription expiration.
  • Email subject about an expired subscription - Configure an email subject.
  • Email content about an expired subscription - Configure the content of email. You can use the following shortcode to make the content more dynamic: [username]
  • EDD product / WooCommerce product - Select EDD or WooCommerce product that will be used for the payment.

Question Subscription 

Starting from version 2.0.8 you can charge users for subscription to be able to ask questions.

The settings are:

  • Enable subscription for Questions - If enabled, the user will have to pay for the subscription to be able to ask questions.
  • Set period for Question Subscription (in months) - Set the period of time in months for how long the paid Question subscription will work. 
  • Enable sending emails about an expired subscription - If enabled, the user will get an email notification about subscription expiration.
  • Email subject about an expired subscription - Configure an email subject.

The settings are:

  • Enable subscription for Answers - If enabled, the user will have to pay for the subscription to be able to post answers.

  • Enable sending emails about an expired subscription - If enabled, the user will get an email notification about subscription expiration.

Unlock Expert's Answer (Integration With Ask The Expert Add-on)

If you are using both Ask the Expert add-on and Payment add-on, you can assign a price for the Expert in this area.

The settings are:

  • Enable charging user for unlocking an expert's answer - If enabled, the user will have to complete the payment to see the answer posted by an expert.
  • EDD product / WooCommerce product - Select EDD or WooCommerce product that will be used for the payment.
