What This Add-on Does

The Course Catalog Payments (Learning Management System) WordPress add-on allows to set prices for each course via the Easy Digital Downloads Cart system.

Course Catalog Dashboard

Once you install the base CM Course Catalog Pro plugin and the Course Catalog Payments add-on, the payment functionality and checkout will be activated automatically. To find the general settings, please head to Admin Dashboard â†’ CM Course Catalog Pro → Settings

Head to the Payments tab.

The plugin CM Course Catalog has different set of options depending on the plugin edition: Essential / Ultimate Editions or Enterprise Edition.

Essential / Ultimate Edition - Payments Settings

  • Courses quantity limit for students - Set the number of courses a student can be registered for. If you set, for example, a value "2", then one student can buy and register for 2 courses only.
  • Who is allowed to register to courses - Allows the admin to limit access to particular user groups. Important: this option was moved to the Access Control settings in version 1.3.6.
  • Courses can be set as free - Let users register for free courses if you enable this option. To hide free courses, select No in the setting. This is how the setting looks like for each course settings on the back-end:


Enterprise Edition - Payments Settings

This tab has the following sections:

Course period purchase

  • Redirect to checkout page after add tickets to cart - If enabled, the user will be redirected to the checkout page at once after adding course tickets to the cart.
  • Select role of the users created after purchase - You can select which role users registered by purchasing courses will get. By default it uses general WordPress settings.
  • Select how the information about tickets left per course is displayed - You can select how the information about tickets left per course is displayed. Choose between:
    • Don't show - Never display the amount of left tickets.
    • Precise - Always display the precise amount of left tickets.
    • Low only - When the amount of left tickets is equal or less than defined value, there will be a message on the front-end which says that there are low amount of tickets left. The amount of tickets is set in the option Tickets low level threshold.
  • Tickets low level threshold - Select the threshold below which the message about the low level of tickets available will be displayed. Leave empty to disable.

Google Calendar Link

  • Google Calendar Timezone - Select the default timezone for the Google Calendar links. 

    On the Checkout page, the student will be offered to add the event to his Google Calendar:

  • Google Calendar link details template - Edit the template for the details added to the Google Calendar. You can use the following shortcodes for adding dynamic content:
    • [course_link]
    • [period_code]
    • [period_start]
    • [period_end]
    • [user_full_name]
    • [user_first_name]
    • [user_last_name]
    • [user_email]
    • [bought_tickets]
    • [total_price]
    • [purchase_id]
    • [calendar_link]

Student Courses

  • Courses quantity limit for students - Set the number of courses a student can be registered for. If you set, for example, a value "2", then one student can buy and register for 2 courses only.

Course tickets quantity

  • Courses ticket quantity - To allow users adding multiple amount of tickets to the cart, you need to enable the relevant option in EDD settings. This setting shows if the EDD option is enabled or not.

    TIP: EDD Settings

    Navigate to Admin Dashboard â†’ Downloads â†’ Settings â†’ Misc tab and enable the option Cart Item Quantities, then click Save Changes.

  • Max tickets per transaction - Define the maximum amount of tickets that can be bought for one period in one go.

Permissions

  • Who is allowed to register to courses - Allows the admin to limit access to particular user groups.

These groups are:

  • Guests
  • Logged in users
  • Students

To save the changes in the settings, click the button Update.
