Strava Integration - BuddyPress Settings
You can configure the Strava-BuddyPress integration by heading to Admin Dashboard → CM Strava BuddyPress (1) → Settings (2).
Note: This will only be available if the BuddyPress plugin is enabled.
There are four settings that can be changed:
Strava API
- Strava API Client and Strava API Client Secret. These are obtained fromStrava's Create an App page. For more information, check the guide Connecting Strava.
- Strava API caching time [min]: Set the caching time in minutes in order to not exceed the Strava API requests rate limit. For more information on the subject, refer to Strava's documentation.
Measure system
Under the Strava API section you can also choose the measurement system: either Metric System or US measure system. (Feature added in version 1.0.3).
Google Maps API
This key is obtained from Google Developer's Console. Get the API key by creating a project from here.
Widgets
Widget caching time [min]: Set the caching time in minutes in order to not exceed the Strava API requests rate limit. For more information on the subject, refer to Strava's documentation.
- Number of the latest rides to show: Choose how many activities will be displayed on the widget.
Example of the widget:
Activity Postbox
Number of the last Strava activities to show in the postbox: The postbox is the area of each post. Here you can set the number of Strava activities to load in them when posting a Strava activity.
Front-End example
The following image shows an example of the activity feed with two posts. Strava's maps are hidden by default and users can expand display them by clicking the "View map & profile" button.
