How to Customize a Term Page Using Elementor Theme Builder

Note: This guide uses:

  • WordPress Glossary plugin - this guide uses version 4.4.2 (all versions are supported - Pro, Pro+ and Ecommerce).
  • Elementor Website Builder - this guide uses version 3.30.0.
  • Elementor Pro - this guide uses version 3.30.0.

To create a custom template for a glossary term page, navigate to the Elementor submenu: Templates → Theme Builder.

On the left sidebar, hover on Single Post and click on the "+" icon to create a new template. Alternatively, you can click Add New at the top right and choose Single Post in the appearing list.

You will be offered to choose pre-made blocks, pages or templates, or you can close this popup to build your own template.

In the left sidebar, you’ll see widgets that you can add to your template:

You can simply drag and drop the desired widgets into the canvas area:

On that step you need to add and customize all needed to you elements. For example, we can add Post Title and Post Content. As a preview, you will see content of one of your posts.

To specify a name for the template, click the settings button at the top, and then write needed name in the field Title:

Next, click the button Publish at the top right:

In the popup, click the button Add condition. At that step we need to add a condition to apply the template only to glossary pages.

Here you need to choose Include, and in the dropdown find and choose CM Tooltip Glossary.

In the last dropdown, choose All. It is needed to apply the template to all glossary terms (alternatively, you can choose only specific terms). Then click Save & Close at the bottom:

Now the template is applied to your glossary terms:

Note: This method doesn't require you to change any options related to custom templates in the WordPress Glossary plugin settings.
