Adding Alphabetic Index to the Sidebar
This feature is only available in the Pro+ and Ecommerce editions of the WordPress Glossary plugin.
Since the version 4.3.5 it is possible to display an alphabetic index widget in the sidebar, and clicking on a specific letter leads to a separate glossary archive page with terms related to this letter.
Front-end Example

Glossary Archive Page ID
To configure this feature, first of all you need to create a Glossary Archive Page. You can do it either manually or automatically. This page is needed for the correct functioning of the widget.
Navigate to Admin Dashboard → CM Tooltip Glossary → Settings → General Settings tab.

1) Automatically
Under the General Settings section, select the option Generate page for Glossary Archive:

Then click the button Save Changes at the bottom of the page:

The needed page will be generated and chosen:

This page contains the shortcode [glossary-archive]
.
2) Manually
Alternatively, you can create your own page and place there the shortcode [glossary-archive]
.

Then, back to the plugin settings, you need to choose the page you created using the option Glossary Archive Page ID, then save the changes:

Adding Widget to the Sidebar
Now we can add a widget to the sidebar. Navigate to Admin Dashboard → Appearance → Widgets.

Click Add block and find the widget named Glossary Alphabetical Index Archive Widget.

The widget has only one setting which allows you to change the widget Title:

When the widget is added, click the button Update at the top right:

Note
The Widgets page may look differently on your site depending on if you are using Block Widgets Editor or Classic Widgets Editor.
Result on the Front-end
Now the user can see an alphabetical index in the sidebar. Clicking on any letter will redirect the user to the page will glossary terms relevant for the chosen letter. This page will also show term featured images if they are defined.
