EDD - Using Personal PayPal Account

Using Personal PayPal Account with Easy Digital Downloads

Since the version 2.11, the Easy Digital Downloads doesn't support using personal PayPal accounts anymore. Currently you need to use either business PayPal account or pay EDD for each transaction.

We have created a stable version of EDD which allows you to use personal PayPal account and avoid spare expenses.

Important: after installing this version of Easy Digital Downloads - DO NOT UPDATE IT to the latest version.

When the plugin is installed, you need to configure it.

Navigate to Admin Dashboard → Downloads → Settings → Payment Gateways → PayPal Standard.

The only mandatory option you need to configure is PayPal Email - add here you PayPal account's email. Optinally you can add the PayPal Page Style name into the relevant field.

After entering the needed data, click the button Save Changes.
