Restricting Users For Certain Periods

Back to the user guides

Note: this guide covers the features that were introduced in version 1.2.3.

Introduction

With the CM Restrict User Account Access, you can set user restriction for certain periods. This way, you can create some kind of schedule where user is allowed or not to login his account. When the user tries to access his account at a time when he is not allowed to, he will see the restriction message:

Setting Up

Period restrictions are set specifically for each user. To do this, navigate to Admin Dashboard â†’ Users â†’ All Users. Create a new user or editing the existing one by hovering on the user and clicking Edit.

Find the section CM Restrict User Account Access and enable the option Restrict user by certain period.

There will appear a few options:

Dates

First option is Dates - here you can set the date and time periods when the user is allowed to login to his account. Just set the date and time in fields From and To, then click Add. You can add multiple periods.

Week Schedule

Second feature is a Week Schedule - here you can configure the standard schedule which will work the same each week. Just mark the time slots when the user is allowed to login his account. The schedule grid is divided into 30-minutes segments - so, when you mark some item, it can be time like 09:00-9:30, 12:30-13:00, etc.

For the convenience, you can copy some certain time from any day to all other days, or copy the whole day settings to other days. You can find the copy-icon next to each added time slot and next to each day name.

After you configured the restriction settings, click the button Update User to save the changes.

Important #1

The restriction settings in the Week Schedule override the restrictions that are set in the option Dates. This means that if you set the restrictions in the Week Schedule, the restrictions in the options Dates will be ignored.

Important #2

The restrictions work according to the Local time which is set in you site General Settings:

You can find the tip about the current local time on your site above the Week Schedule:
