Telegram - Interacting With Bot

Back to User Guide

Introduction

Once you have created a bot, made it an admin and connected it with the WordPress Telegram Bot plugin, you can send it commands.

To do so, simply write down any of the following commands in the group where the bot is. It's not necessary to mention the bot while inputting them.

TIP: Case-Sensitive Commands

Telegram bot commands are case-sensitive!

As such, /getGroupId will work and /getgroupid will not work.

Commands

/getGroupId

Usage: Returns the group ID

/getinfo

Usage: returns all JSON raw info from the message. It includes the ID of the message and group, language_code and all data related to the message.

Useful for debugging purposes.

Commands With BotFather - Not Necessary

@BotFather allows you to add commands to the bot. This is not necessary. The WordPress Telegram Bot comes bundled with its own commands.
