Setting Up the Payment For a Download

The CM Download Manager Payments Add-on adds EDD and WooCommerce to Download Manager.

When a user pays for a download, he/she is granted access to that download forever.

Note: By default, Download Manager has MicroPayments support, which is explained at the end of this article.

Setting Up the Payment

Once the CM Download Manager Payments add-on is installed, a new option will be available when creating or editing a download, as highlighted:

It allows you to set the desired price for each download individually. The currency is determined by the payment platform's settings. Learn more about the payment platforms and how to choose between them in the dedicated guide.

If no price is set, the download will be free.

Appearance in the Front-end

The texts that appear to the user can be changed in the labels settings of the plugin. Learn more in the guide about it.

Download listing - Paid downloads will be locked by a button informing their price.

Cart page - The download will be treated as any other product

MicroPayments Payments Support

The CM Download Manager plugin has default support for MicroPayments. Here is a simple breakdown:

Base plugin CM Download Manager: Supports MicroPayments, with this method you will be able to not only charge but also grant points per download, and grant user points when uploading a file.
- Note: For this integration to work, you must have both CM Download Manager and CM Micropayments plugins installed
Add-on CM Download Manager Payments Addon: Adds EDD and WooCommerce support, making CM Download Manager work with EDD, WooCommerce and MicroPayments.
- Note: For this integration to work, you must have the plugin EDD (Easy Digital Download) or WooCommerce installed.
