This feature is only available in the Pro+ and Ecommerce editions of the WordPress Glossary plugin.

Each Glossary Term page includes a customization metabox called “Term Properties”.

Adjusting term properties

The metabox includes the following options:

  • Don't parse this item – Ignores the term
  • Hide tooltip for this term – Tooltip will not be shown in posts or pages for this term.
  • Disable Google API for this term – If Google Translate is set, it will be deactivated for the specified term.
  • Disable Merriam-Webster Dictionary API for this term – If MW dictionary API is set, it will be deactivated for the specified term (only available in eCommerce).
  • Disable Merriam-Webster Thesaurus API for this term – If MW dictionary API is set, it will be deactivated for the specified term (only available in eCommerce).
  • Disable Wikipedia API for this term – If Wikipedia API is set, it will be deactivated for the specified term (only available in eCommerce).
  • Disable Wiktionary API for this term – If Wikipedia API is set, it will be deactivated for the specified term (only available in eCommerce).
  • Don’t show Amazon Banners for term – If Amazon API is set, it will be deactivated for the specified term (only available in eCommerce).
  • Disable tooltip background for this term? (Transparency) – Make this tooltip transparent. This is useful for showing videos and images or to support Amazon widgets.
  • Don’t show the Featured image in the tooltip – Featured image for the specified term will be shown in the term page, but not in the tooltip window.
  • Don’t show the Featured video in the tooltip – Featured video for the specified term will be shown in the term page, but not in the tooltip window.
