General vs. Specific Settings

The settings in this guide will be applied by default to all Table of Questions.

You can customize different versions of the Table of Question by using shortcodes. Learn more: Using Shortcodes

In the Pro edition of the WordPress Questions and Answers, you can customize many elements of the Table of Questions. That involves showing the number of answers and views, if the author name has a link, among others.

Navigate to the Admin Dashboard â†’ CM Answers Pro â†’ Settings.

Click on the Appearance tab.

Next, scroll down to the Table of Questions section. Here, the admin can choose work with each option.

  • Show number of votes for a question (Yes No) - If enabled, users will see rating column, based on chosen votes mode for questions.
  • Show number of views for a question (Yes No) - If enabled, users will see number of views next to the question name (main Answers page only).
  • Show number of answers for a question (Yes No) - If enabled, users will see number of answers next to the question name (main Answers page only).
  • Display numbers vertically (Yes No) - If enabled, the votes, answers and views numbers will displayed vertically. If disabled - horizontally.
  • Display numbers on the right side (Yes No) - If enabled, the votes, answers and views numbers will displayed on the right side. If disabled - on the left.
  • Display difficulty level (Yes No) - If enabled, the Difficulty level will be added at the bottom of the question
  • Show information about the author of a question (Yes No) - If enabled, users will see the information about the author of the question next to the question name (main Answers page only).
  • Author name as a link to his page (Yes No) - If enabled, the username will be a link to the contributor's page.
  • Author photo as a link to his page (Yes No) - If enabled, the photo(avatar) will be a link to the contributor's page.
  • Show information about the updates for a question (Yes No) - If enabled, users will see the information about the last update (the author and time/date) next to the question name (main Answers page only).
  • Show question ID on questions table (Yes No) - Mostly useful for the admin and debugging

  • Show label when question has no answer (Yes No) - The text can be changed from the Labels Settings.

  • Show author box on index page (Yes No) - If this is enabled, the author profile will appear in a special box with photo.

  • Show question info (Yes No) - Will be shown in the right column.
  • Show content under the title (Yes No) - Decide of to display the questions content under the title.
  • Show recent answer under the title (Yes No) - Shows the latest answer.
    • Recent answer text length - Trim recent answer text to a certain number of words

  • Sticky questions background color - You can write color by name: white, red, lightblue. Or you can use the HTML format #CCCCCC, #0000FF etc.
